1,10-Phenanthrolin-1-ium trinitromethanide (1,10-PHTNM) as a novel nano molten slat with Y-aromatic counter ion was synthesized and fully characterized by using various techniques such as FT-IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, mass, TGA, DTG, XRD, SEM and TEM. Phosphorylation of alcohols is a fundamentally important reaction in both life science and physical science. Product phosphate monoesters play key roles in living organisms, natural products, pharmaceuticals, and organic materials. Most of the chemical methods to date for synthesizing phosphate monoesters, however, require multistep sequences or are limited to specific types of substrates possibly due to harsh conditions. An alternative way to enable the simple production of phosphate monoesters from highly functionalized precursor alcohols is, thus, highly desired. We report herein a catalytic phosphorylation of alcohols with high functional group tolerance using tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate (TBAHS) and phosphoenolpyruvic acid monopotassium salt (PEP-K) as the catalyst and phosphoryl donor, respectively. This method enables the direct introduction of a nonprotected phosphate group to the hydroxy group of a diverse menu of alcohol substrates, including functionalized small molecules, carbohydrates, and unprotected peptides. Nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometric, and density functional theory analyses suggest that an unprecedented mixed anhydride species, generated from PEP-K and TBAHS, acts as an active phosphoryl donor in this reaction. This operationally simple and chemoselective catalytic phosphorylation allows for the efficient production of densely functionalized O-phosphorylated compounds, which are useful in diverse fields including biology and medicine.

Background: Current cancer mortality figures are important for disease management and resource allocation. We estimated mortality counts and rates for 2020 in the European Union (EU) and for its six most populous countries. Materials and methods: We obtained cancer death certification and population data from the World Health Organization and Eurostat databases for 1970-2015. We estimated projections to 2020 for 10 major cancer sites plus all neoplasms and calculated the number of avoided deaths over 1989-2020. Results: Total cancer mortality rates in the EU are predicted to decline reaching 130.1/100 000 men (similar to 5.4% since 2015) and 82.2 in women (similar to 4.1%) in 2020. The predicted number of deaths will increase by 4.7% reaching 1 428 800 in 2020. In women, the upward lung cancer trend is predicted to continue with a rate in 2020 of 15.1/100 000 (higher than that for breast cancer, 13.5) while in men we predicted further falls. Pancreatic cancer rates are also increasing in women (+1.2%) but decreasing in men (similar to 1.9%). In the EU, the prostate cancer predicted rate is 10.0/100 000, declining by 7.1% since 2015; decreases for this neoplasm are similar to 8% at age 45-64, 14% at 65-74 and 75-84, and 6% at 85 and over. Poland is the only country with an increasing prostate cancer trend (+18%). Mortality rates for other cancers are predicted to decline further. Over 1989-2020, we estimated over 5 million avoided total cancer deaths and over 400 000 for prostate cancer. Conclusion: Cancer mortality predictions for 2020 in the EU are favourable with a greater decline in men. The number of deaths continue to rise due to population ageing. Due to the persistent amount of predicted lung (and other tobacco-related) cancer deaths, tobacco control remains a public health priority, especially for women. Favourable trends for prostate cancer are largely attributable to continuing therapeutic improvements along with early diagnosis.

The nitrogen and phosphorus co-doped graphene-like carbon (NPG) is cost-effective fabricated by simple ball-milling and thermal treatment. The as-prepared NPG can be used as a metal-free catalyst for selective catalytic oxidation of aromatic alcohols to their corresponding acids by using TBHP and O-2 as the oxidant in water. It is observed that various aromatic alcohols bearing electron-donating/withdrawing groups can be oxidized to the corresponding acids in excellent yields. No dehalogenation and steric-hindrance effects are detected in this oxidation process. In addition, the NPG catalyst can be easily separated and efficiently reused seven times, showing good recyclability.

DNA-encoded chemical libraries are increasingly used in pharmaceutical research because they enable the rapid discovery of synthetic protein ligands. Here we explored whether target-class focused DNA-encoded chemical libraries can be cost-effective tools to achieve robust screening productivity for a series of proteins. The study revealed that a DNA-encoded library designed for NAD(+)-binding pockets (NADEL) effectively sampled the chemical binder space of enzymes with ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The extracted information directed the synthesis of inhibitors for several enzymes including PARP15 and SIRT6. The high dissimilarity of NADEL screening fingerprints for different proteins translated into inhibitors that showed selectivity for their target. The discovery of patterns of enriched structures for six out of eight tested proteins is remarkable for a library of 58 302 DNA-tagged structures and illustrates the prospect of focused DNA-encoded libraries as economic alternatives to large library platforms.

Chalcone based structures have many interesting biological properties like anti-malarial, anticancer, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-hyperglycaemic and photo-cytotoxicity activities. In this study, the novel chalcone derivatives (1a-11) have been synthesized and investigated for antimicrobial activities. The MIC results of antimicrobial activities reveal that one of the chalcone derivative (2-Br- and 4OCH(3)- group) against specific bacteria are quite significant. 3D QSAR, three dimensional quantitative structure activity is one of the most powerful technique which involves the quantitative relationship between the biological activity of a set of compounds and their three dimensional structural properties, using statistical correlation methods. Pharmacophore modelling and molecular docking play an important role in drug design. To elucidate the relationship between structures and its activity, field-based 3D QSAR analysis has been carried out of novel chalcone derivatives. Structural properties such as electrostatic, hydrophobic, aromatic, and hydrogen-bond donor and acceptor have been worked out for novel chalcone derivatives. To investigate the influence of drugstore, chalcone derivatives (1a-11) have docked with receptor 210K and results displayed the highest Gscore of ligand If (3-OCH2C6H5-4-OCH3- group).

This report describes a palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative aryl allylation between unactivated benzoic acids and allylic carbonates. This transformation successfully couples a variety of carbonates and benzoic acids in good yield (up to 94%) using 1 mol% palladium. This salt free allyl-arylation proceeds without added base, copper, or silver. The only stoichiometric byproducts are carbon dioxide and tert-butanol.

This report describes the formation of value-added acyl fluorides by means of palladium-catalyzed acyl-exchange reactions between acyl fluorides and acid anhydrides. This method allows using a simple and commercially available acyl fluoride, benzoyl fluoride, as the fluoride source for the easy and efficient preparation of a variety of more complex acyl fluorides. The results of this study suggest that this reaction proceeds via a reversible acyl C-F bond cleavage/formation at the palladium center.
