The precipitate was filtered off and dried, yielding 1.60 g of N-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)-3,4-dihydro-7-methoxybenzofuro[2,3-c]pyridine-2(1H)-butanamine monohydrochloride monohydrate (61percent) (compound 55).
